Lonnie has been elected
(by unanimous vote) to the office of Dad for the past 22 years. He has been by
far the most popular candidate, generating 100%
turnout at every election. His political career began in 1983, when he was
elected Husband. His lead (according to the Mary poll) was so overwhelming that
all opponents dropped out long before the actual date of the election. In 1980,
Lonnie realized that God’s love and forgiveness is not something that has to be
campaigned for, and gratefully accepted the promise of new life through Christ’s
sacrifice.
Lonnie is a computer science
professor at Ohio University, through which he founded the Ohio Bioinformatics
Consortium, the International Journal of Computational Bioscience, and the
Great Lakes Bioinformatics Conference. In his spare time, he manages beehives
and dreams of honey. Other offices held are 4-H Advisor, Mock Trial Consultant,
and Mandolinist.
